Would it be fair to say that if the politicians were deciding on issues that affected them, bills would be flowing out of Congress like a well-oiled conveyor belt? But because the issues that the House and the Senate discuss on a daily basis will not affect them in the least and they have no vested interest in the “bill of the moment” outcome, then it becomes a game of monopoly, me versus you and I will trade all my railroads for your boardwalk property and at the end of the day, they can all walk away without guilt.
Why? Because the actors and actresses on Capitol Hill appear to be acting out a script in a play rather than seriously entertaining any dialogue that would be beneficial to the public-at-large. Somebody needs to shake them out of their movie star roles, and get them to understand that their continual stance of ‘”I got one over them!” roles will haunt them come election time. Do they not understand that the United States is going through the worst recession/depression in its history, with no real light at the end of tunnel for years to come?
Who do they think will be held accountable? Can’t you hear them say collectively, like a well rehearsed choir, “NOT ME?” That’s where they’re wrong! The politicians need to run don’t walk and look at the face staring back at them in the mirror. Have they taken a good look, yet? Good! That’s the person that the public will hold accountable for this mess that we can’t seem to even begin to dig ourselves out of! Why, because, “Politics + No Vested Interest Creates “Continual Gridlock” on Capitol Hill.”
This is our government at work! Don’t worry, they will surely blow the budget and cry to the public to give them more time, during election time, to spend more money for even less work, if you can call it that! At this moment, it looks like they are having an extended ‘frat party” until the public wakes up and smell the coffee.
Let’s just tell it like it is! The politicians’ have no vested interest in the decisions or lack of decisions that they continually seem unable, incapable or unwilling to make. It makes the general public, sick to their stomach, to consistently see the politicians make the shameful walk to the podium and began to talk about what they want individually , but not what could be possible if they all took a step back on a daily basis and ask themselves, “Who put me in this position?” and “Why did they select me over the other candidate?” and “ What do I owe my constituents’ for putting their trust in me and voting for me to hold this prestigious office?”
Each politician should ask, “What is my duty as a civil servant to my constituents’ and what is my duty to myself to be worthy of such an honor?” All the “Grand Standing” needs to cease and desist.
All those clowns on Capitol Hill need to audition for Ringling Brothers Circus and leave the work on Capitol Hill for “Thinkers, Decision-Makers, and Movers & Shakers!” Oh! Don’t forget to chisel the oversized gavel from oversized Bone-Head Boehner’s Hands!”

Mervin Sealy from Hickory, North Carolina, takes part in a protest rally outside the Capitol Building in Washington

The $447 billion package of tax cuts and new spending failed by a vote of 50 to 48, short of the 60 votes it needed to advance in the 100-member Senate. Voting was expected to continue for several hours but would not affect the outcome.
Obama vows to break jobs plan into seperate bills after Senate setback
The Senate defeated President Barack Obama’s job-creation package on Tuesday in a sign that Washington is likely too fractured to take major steps to encourage hiring before the 2012 elections.
However, will the unemployed / under-employed, 99’ers and the remainder of the 17 million displaced for one reason or another continue too wait or can afford too wait until after the next election, or will a genuine movement with a people’s platform rise up within The Occupy Wall Street movement and force the hand of the government to perform the job they were elected to do or go home?
Someone on Capitol Hill needs to have enough backbone and intestinal fortitude to push through all the manure that the House and Senate keep trying to ram down the people’s throat.
Something that one of the participants from the movement said (she appeared to be middle age, possibly from the suburbs) was very telling of how most of the unemployed and under-employed feel. She stated that for the first time she was worried about the direction this country has taken and wondering how long can we survive in our present state. How Long? Not Long?
Remember the phrase:”A house divided against it self cannot stand.” If that is true, then what do you think about a country?
Even President Obama acknowledged that “Ultimately, the American people won’t take “no” for an answer. It’s time for Congress to meet their responsibility, put their party politics aside and take action on jobs right now.”
This country is at a crossroads. Which road will the House and Senate take?
Is it possible for a group of people to despise a man so much that they are willing to destroy the entire country in the process, even if it means going down in the process?
Let’s call it what it is! Hate!
Will a entire country of people stand idle on the sidelines and allow a small group of politicians to manipulate and use them as collateral damage while they watch the country slide into the sinking sand just to avenge what they perceive to be “A get him out at any cause mentality.” Were you consulted before they decided to play with your life or did the politicians think that they have the “power of attorney” to make life or death decisions on your behalf?
“So, what are you going to do? Stand Up {Mervin Sealy from Hickory, North Carolina, takes part in a protest rally outside the Capitol Building in Washington”}and be Heard or Become Collateral Damage? It’s Your Choice or is it?”
To: All the registered voters who actually vote. There is a lesson to be learned by the mess that United States finds itself in. The voters voiced their choice of representation by way of vote. When you vote for a particular candidate, you virtually give him or her the right to speak for you. When the votes are cast! It’s to late, then, too try to learn about the candidate you selected.
If you voted for a candidate based on popularity, because someone told you to vote for them or because of your dislike for the other candidate, without researching and seeking out as much information on that candidate as possible but got caught up in the hype. Shame on you!
At least now, hopefully, you can learn from past mistakes and make an informed choice based on your own research, so that, at the end of the day, you can truly say that “you have full confidence in the person you selected” and without trepidation can look at the man in the mirror and recognize the person staring back at you.
“Your Voice is really your Vote!” Don’t take it for granted! LooK at it this way! Will you work 40 hours a week and give your paycheck to a stranger just because they ask you for it? If that’s the case? Can I have it? See … what I mean!

Following the signing into law on the agreement to raise the U.S. debt ceiling and reduce government spending, Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), made the following statement:
“We welcome the agreement to raise the U.S. government’s borrowing limit and cut the budget deficit. By reducing a major uncertainty in the markets and bolstering U.S. fiscal credibility, this agreement is good for both the U.S. and the global economy.
“Raising the debt ceiling means a severe economic disruption has been avoided, and the accompanying deficit reduction deal is an important step toward fiscal consolidation. Given the fragility of recovery, the planned spending cuts are appropriately phased and not overly frontloaded so as not to undermine growth.
“The challenge for policymakers is now to develop a consolidation framework that includes clear medium-term debt and deficit objectives. Putting public finances on a sustainable path will entail identifying further savings in entitlement spending as well as new revenues.”
To all you smart idiots who didn’t want to work with President Obama in respect to the debt ceiling; “How do you like the U.S. now?” Now, that it’s credit rating took a nose dive along with the stock market. Well, all you smart politicians who couldn’t find your way out of a paper bag but somehow found your selves on Capitol Hill and was ready to take over and turn this country around. You not only turned this country around, you have all but destroyed one of the last major dynasties in the world.
So, you’re on vacation! Do this country a favor and don’t come back. Let the U.S. run on auto pilot, it would be better off. You made history alright! Your name will be forever linked to one of the major disaster’s ever recorded in history. Smile, so that they can take your picture and put it in the “Hall of Idiots for 2011.”
Let this be a lesson going forward, that the principal will never allow the kindergartners’ to run the school. Who but you would expect to take over the government their first term in office? So wet behind the ears, someone has to put the bib on you, lest you soil your shirt.
And yet, it’s obvious that you still don’t get it. Stop being so arrogant, you didn’t win anything, although you with the small minds think you did. Exactly what is it that you think you won? Looking at the news almost requires a barf bag. All you hear are the Republicans and the Tea Partiers say is, “We won! We won! we won!”
Look at you now! You won the right to tell your constituents’ that you were so bend on winning at all cause that their mortgages, food and everything else is about to go through the ceiling, as you tow the line and the stocks continue to take a nose dive to parts unknown.
You won alright! "The right to pack your bags and never come back!"

As I watch show after show, I’m marveled at all the everyday people as well as corporate ceo’s come together for one common purpose, “To make that family whole again.” I don’t see politicians or party affiliations gravelling about, “do it this way!”’, No, “Do it that way,” just ordinary people coming together for a good cause.
I say! That’s what we need in the White House and on Capitol Hill, ordinary people with good common sense that have the pulse of the people on their minds and in their hearts to turn our country and ultimately this nation around.
We need representatives who have picked themselves up by their bootstraps and persevered against all odds and know what it feels like to come home at the end of the day, tired and hungry.
Good leaders, who have toiled the fields of this land, quietly wiping the sweat from their brows, yet still persevering. These are the people, who truly have a vested interest in its people and its country.
If life was provided too me on a silver platter, I have no vested interest in its outcome. I sowed nothing! I only have a vested interest in me and mine! Sound familiar?
