GOP House Leaders Yield to the Will of the People

House Republican leaders did something that at one time would have been impossible. They actually stepped back from the grand-standing of politics, put the prepared script aside and realize where they were and how they got there: because of the vote and voice of their constituents. Too that we commend them! And could see for the first time, the small steps they’ve taken in maturing into their roles as leaders and not just talking pundits.

Sometimes, life lessons are slow and easy, other times, it’s quick and painful. Nevertheless, one seldom forgets how they derived at their first major breakthrough. Finally, the culture of the room is shifting and you could sense for the first time that maybe both sides, the Democrats and Republicans can meet and agree on some of the countries most crucial issues.

After taking such a hard stance and saying that “they would not buckle,” House Republican leaders buckled and reversed their stance on Thursday and agreed too a two-month extension of a payroll-tax-break [sparing a tax increase, that would have affected over 160 million American workers] after internal discord and pressure from President Obama to approve this temporary bill, thus allowing both parties more time to find a more permanent solution.

While most of the news media sees this as a major victory for President Obama, it’s really a major victory for the people. It would behoove both parties moving forward to hear and listen to the cry of their constituents.

The United States is in the midst of a paradigm shift and its effect is going to be life altering. The leaders that are currently in the House and Senate are charged to keep this country in an up-ward position while this shift is taking place. Their role in history is greater than they realize. They can go down in history as some of the greatest leaders in modern times, or greatest failures of the century.

The foreword in the history book has been written and the body is beginning to take shape but the ending is yet to be determined. The current leaders will have a part to play in how the end of this history lesson will be written.

Politics + No Vested Interest Creates “Continual Gridlock” on Capital Hill

Would it be fair to say that if the politicians were deciding on issues that affected them, bills would be flowing out of Congress like a well-oiled conveyor belt? But because the issues that the House and the Senate discuss on a daily basis will not affect them in the least and they have no vested interest in the “bill of the moment” outcome, then it becomes a game of monopoly, me versus you and I will trade all my railroads for your boardwalk property and at the end of the day, they can all walk away without guilt.

 Why? Because the actors and actresses on Capitol Hill appear to be acting out a script in a play rather than seriously entertaining any dialogue that would be beneficial to the public-at-large. Somebody needs to shake them out of their movie star roles, and get them to understand that their continual stance of ‘”I got one over them!” roles will haunt them come election time. Do they not understand that the United States is going through the worst recession/depression in its history, with no real light at the end of tunnel for years to come?

Who do they think will be held accountable? Can’t you hear them say collectively, like a well rehearsed choir, “NOT ME?” That’s where they’re wrong! The politicians need to run don’t walk and look at the face staring back at them in the mirror. Have they taken a good look, yet? Good! That’s the person that the public will hold accountable for this mess that we can’t seem to even begin to dig ourselves out of! Why, because, “Politics + No Vested Interest Creates “Continual Gridlock” on Capitol Hill.”

This is our government at work! Don’t worry, they will surely blow the budget and cry to the public to give them more time, during election time, to spend more money for even less work, if you can call it that! At this moment, it looks like they are having an extended ‘frat party” until the public wakes up and smell the coffee.

Let’s just tell it like it is! The politicians’ have no vested interest in the decisions or lack of decisions that they continually seem unable, incapable or unwilling to make. It makes the general public, sick to their stomach, to consistently see the politicians make the shameful walk to the podium and began to talk about what they want individually , but not what could be possible if they all took a step back on a daily basis and ask themselves, “Who put me in this position?” and “Why did they select me over the other candidate?” and “ What do I owe  my constituents’ for putting their trust in me and voting for me to hold this prestigious office?”

Each politician should ask, “What is my duty as a civil servant to my constituents’ and what is my duty to myself to be worthy of such an honor?”  All the “Grand Standing” needs to cease and desist.

All those clowns on Capitol Hill need to audition for Ringling Brothers Circus and leave the work on Capitol Hill for “Thinkers, Decision-Makers, and Movers & Shakers!” Oh! Don’t forget to chisel the oversized gavel from oversized Bone-Head Boehner’s Hands!”

Miami Police Chief Miguel Exposito: Power and Politics!

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act), employees may file complaints with OSHA if they believe that they have experienced discrimination or retaliation for exercising any right afforded by the OSH Act, such as complaining to the employer union, OSHA, or any other government agency about workplace safety or health hazards; or for participating in OSHA inspection conferences, hearings, or other OSHA-related activities.

Miami Police Chief Miguel Exposito case should prove to be very interesting as he is accusing his employer of the very same thing that his subordinate’s, Assistant Chief Roy Brown, and Commander Jose Perez,is accusing him of.

Chief Exposito can not hide behind the “Whistleblower Protection Act,” while at the same time allegedly violating someone else’s rights. “You can’t put your foot on my neck while at the same time screaming to others to get their foot off of your neck!” and expect the same or similar scenario’s to have different results.

“Someone’s foot on your neck or your foot on someone else’s neck, anybody’s neck is against the law!” The word “Law” requires everyone to be treated equally, unless “there is a law for you and a different law for everyone else!”

Power and Politics are strange bedfellows that are often intertwined with outcomes like a spider weaving a web for his next victim. Sometimes the victim is caught in the web and sometimes the spider becomes entangled in his own creation having to rely on the mercy of others to free him from his own trap.

What does the ole saying, “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive” mean? It means that we make things difficult and complicated when we deceive others.

“Lies cost a lot to maintain, the “Truth is Free!” The truth will always walk down a lie every time …. It just takes longer. That’s why its imperative to “stand in your truth!”

The names will be changed to protect the not so innocent. Here is the scenario:

My friend was dismissed from her job for going by the letter of the law. She was approached by her superiors including her own boss to play like everyone else, which included co-horting with the opposite sex to secure her job in these uncertain times.

Fortunately or unfortunately for her, she stuck to her belief and her religion and resisted the works of evil. However, due to politics as it is, they ultimately relieved her from her job because she would not play along to get along and she consistently rejected their offer to go drinking on Friday’s or have illicit affairs with her superiors, as was the case with many but not all of her peers.

Before she was finally dismissed, she had to write a memo in order to receive even a minuet pencil, while her other peers just went to the facilities department and ask and was given pencils, pens, papers, batteries etc.

My friend’s life was also threaten by one of her co-workers, [unbeknownst to her, before she was advised by her supervisor] and that same co-worker is still working on the job. My friend told me that her boss said “don’t worry about it” that Mary would take care of it. Audrey was in the room with my friend and Mary and is a witness to what was discussed.

After the meeting about someone threatening her life, she went back to the office and confided with several of her workers as to what took place in the meeting.

After several weeks of sexual harassment by her boss and her boss’s boss, they finally figured out a way to have her dismissed from her job. Budget time was coming and they had to trim the budget. What better way to get rid of my friend and keep the players’. Even if it meant having two employees do the same work that she performed alone.

She could have informed someone in authority outside of her agency as what was really happening under their nose, but choose to be silent.

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “If the walls could talk?”

But, what if the walls could talk? It would bring the entire organization to its knee’s, starting with the very top person. If the walls could talk, it would tell you all about the sex and partner switching antics inside a government building, married superiors fighting over their subordinates, along with the drugs, illicit deals with other professionals and all the other antics consistent with the mafia not the government.“Days of Our Lives” and “As the World Turn,” have nothing on this organized and corrupted group of administrators.

My friend said that she would give me their names but it would take up an entire page in and of itself, but you know who you are and you know how you got there!

Is this law and order or law and disorder? You be the judge!

Is the Tea Party working “For” or “Against” the American People?

“I’m not the slightest bit worried about a government shutdown,” Tea Party supporter Robin Maas said at a March 31 rally in Washington. “I think we find out that there are many things government does that we really don’t need to keep this country going. And a government shutdown would actually save us some money.

We can’t impose our will on the Senate,” Boehner said. “All we can do is fight for all the spending cuts that we can get an agreement to and spending limitations as well.” To some of the Tea Party faithful, that sounded like giving up. Kathy Dirr, an activist from Boehner’s Ohio district, had a message for the House Republican leadership: “Take off your lace panties” and push for deeper cuts, she said.

Boehner’s Republican colleagues in Congress recognize his conundrum. Conservative Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama acknowledged that the Tea Party movement may not “understand all the realities of Washington politics,” but on the substance of the issues — the need to reduce the size of government and bring down spending — “they are right fundamentally,” he told the ABC program “This Week” on Sunday.

House Speaker John Boehner appears to be caught between a rock and a hard place. Boehner’s hands appear to be tied by the “Tea Party Nation Founder, Judson Phillips, who has solicited via internet possible candidates to run against Boehner, if he doesn’t adhere to their demands. One of which is “They want to Shut Down the Government.”

I have been following Boehner for awhile now to evaluate his progress and to see if he really loves his country as much as he appears too by way of his emotions and other body language. If John Boehner loves his country, then we will see by his actions not lack of action.

As Mr. Boehner so eloquently stated, he aspired his entire life to be in the position that he finds himself in today. It would be a pity or even robbery for him to finally achieve what he has worked for all his life to be taken away by someone with half his experience, no real leadership skills and only taking directions from someone else with a hidden agenda.

House Speaker John Boehner, stand your ground and proceed based on what you know will be good for all Americans and not allow anyone to set you up to take the fall for a few ill intentioned members with hidden agenda’s, who really don’t have your best interest at heart. You know as well as I know, that in the end, if the Federal Government is shutdown, their names will not suffer at all but your name will be dragged through the mud, from which you may never recover. Who then would profit from such a feat?

The American public understands that there a two factions on Capital Hill, however, they expect both parties to always have the greater good in mind when making decisions with lasting consequences. The voters didn’t send their representatives to Capital Hill to succumb to blackmail but to stand up to their foes and do the right thing!

I’m saying, Man-Up! House and Man-Up! Senate and do what you promise your constituents that you would do for them and that is protect, serve and help lead this great nation, not run and hide and continue with the blame game.

Remember! 2012 is right around the corner and we will remember who actually worked for us and who worked against us, including the tea party members.

“AMERICA, ARE YOU YOUR WORSE ENEMY?”

We’re drowning in debt and joblessness along with the other ills that come with it, but don’t worry America; the solution is too continuously report negatively about President Obama every chance we get and things are sure to change.

The magnitude of ignorance is astounding as I witness reporter after reporter smiling as though they just won the lottery, reporting that the President is on a losing streak on his trip abroad. They report as though they live in a different country. Who do they think are the real losers?

It’s not President Obama but rather the citizens that will feel the effects of a win or lose situation from this trip. The President went on a trip to try to create more jobs for the 17 million and counting citizens currently unemployed. President Obama is not unemployed, so this is not a self serving trip but rather an opportunity to meet one on one with the powers-that-be, which have the ability to create thousands of jobs for Americans.

America! You better wake up! And become thinkers rather than followers of your own destiny. If someone purports to do better without showing you a realistic, sustainable, workable plan, don’t fall for the rhetoric. America needs all the thinkers and doers they can get, citizens as well as politicians. The time to point the finger, has long since past. America needs common sense doable plans of action to get this country back on course.

No one party will be responsible for America’s turn around. It’s going to take the positive efforts, going in the same direction of all who currently reside in the United States to turn our economic system around. The minds of the politicians and its constituents will have to be expanded and their “arrogance of power” will have to be checked at the door and “what is in the best interest of this country”, should be front and center!

For all the pundits that say “We can do better!” Show me, in black and white, plain simple English not more political mambo jumbo, specifics that tell me exactly what, when, where, and how your plan will put America back to work now not in 10 years from now.

Please don’t tell me that we are going to repeal everything! Tell me what you are going to do for all the constituents that put their trust in you too do better. Repeal means more of the same…Voters elected you for change.

Now that you have been elected, Politicians! What are you going to do for the people?
