Florida Foreclosure Firm and Affiliates Lay Off 155 More Employees
The Law Offices of David J. Stern and DJSP Enterprises, which processes home foreclosure cases for the Plantation, Fl-based Law firm, passed out pink slips to an additional 155 employees on Thursday, 11/18/2010.
The latest round of layoffs, which included lawyers and support staff, reduces the total number of workers at the Plantation firm and DJSP to 300, down from 1200. The layoffs came as Fannie Mae, withdrew its business from the Stern Firm and announced it had named eight law firms to handle foreclosure cases in Florida.
DJSP last week announced it had defaulted on a $12 million line of credit with Bank of America and was working with the bank to reach an agreement.
