Alice Bernstein interview with the late Rev. Addie L. Wyatt

The Rev. Addie L. Wyatt – – an advocate for workers rights and civil rights – –
died Wednesday at the age of 88 after a long illness, said her adminstrative aide.

It must be Presidential Election Time: Televangelist Pat Roberson is at it again!

This time it is on the “Legalization of Marijuana.” Televangelist Pat Robertson, 81, wants everyone to eat, drink and smoke in peace. Can you pass the pipe, I mean the peace? Please!

Robertson made a comment on the Christian Broadcasting Network that he became sort of a hero of the hippie culture, when he said that we ought to decriminalize the possession of marijuana.

He believes that too many young people wind up in prison and are turned into hard-core criminals just because they had a small amount of controlled substance for personal use. “The whole thing is crazy” says Robertson.

He insists that the laws need to be changed. “We cannot allow this to continue. It’s sapping our vitality. Think of this great land of freedom. We have the highest rate of incarceration of any nation on the face of the Earth. That’s a shocking statistic.”

We’re locking up people that have taken a couple puffs of marijuana, and next thing you know, they’ve got 10 years with mandatory sentences,” Robertson is so adamant about the legalization of marijuana, you have to wonder if someone in his immediate family were caught sending up smoke signals.

Robertson goes on to say that “We need to take another look at what we’re considering as crimes and that’s one of them.”

Deutsche Bank ordered the eviction of Vita Lee, 103… But God… would not allow the movers or deputies … to touch one hair on her head or her property.

Vita Lee, 103, just three weeks shy of her 104th birthday were minutes away from eviction, from her home on Penelope Road in NW Atlanta of 53 years, which she shared with her 83-year-old daughter, Tuesday, when the sheriff’s deputies and moving company hired by Deutsche Bank took one look at Ms. Lee, laying in the bed at age 103 and decided not to go through with the eviction.

Channel 2’s Ryan Young
was there and said that the family immediately started giving God the praise and thanking Him for still being in the miracle working business.

“I love my home. It’s a mansion!” Ms. Lee said about her home.

Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies and movers intentions were to kick the two women out based on orders from Deutsche Bank but when they arrived at the home and took one look at Ms. Lee, they could not go through with the eviction and turned around and left.

“I saw the sheriff’s, who came to put them out, take off and leave. I gave all glory to God.” Said Community Activist Michael Langford.

Channel 2’s Ryan Young asked Ms. Lee, if she was worried about being kicked out of her home. With the assurance of a prayer warrior on the battlefield for a long time, she replied “No, I they didn’t know what they were doing. God don’t let them do wrong. The Bible says: “Once a man, twice a child! I’m 104! I’m a child! I know that God said “If things go wrong, He’ll make it right!” Lee said.

The fear of imminent eviction, proved too much for Ms. Lee’s daughter and she had to be rushed to the hospital for medical care.

“Please don’t come in and disturb me no more. When I’m gone you all can come back and do whatever they want too,” Ms. Lee said.

Hopefully, Deutsche Bank can forgive the remainder of this loan, for” humanitarian reasons” and allow Ms. Lee and her daughter to remain in their home.

Bishop Eddie Lee Long: Fall from Grace

Can You See Me Now!

After vehemently denying the accusations’ {sexual misconduct} filed against him by four young men, Bishop Eddie Lee Long, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, one of the biggest mega churches in Atlanta-area, has settled out for court for millions.

“Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.” Job:32-9 KJV

What happened to the “I’ll fight them all the way to court?” By settling, rather than going to court signifies that he is guilty in part or entirely of the accusations levied against him. How will the members view their Bishop going forward when, preaching and teaching from the pulpit, yet leading a completely different life away from the eyes of the church? What do you tell your members and at what cost did this settlement hurt the church coffers, since the church will ultimately pick up the tab for Bishop Long’s indiscretions?

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” Psalm:139:23 KJV
“And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. “ Psalm:139:24 KJV

How can a Bishop, who was caught with his pants down, overseer of other Pastors. Ministers and lay-persons effectively lead anyone at this point? Wouldn’t it be prudent for the Bishop to hand in his letter of resignation, step down and allow the church an opportunity to heal itself?

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Galatians 5:17
“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” Galatians 5:19

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness.” Galatians 5:20
The record of television evangelist who have fallen by the way side because of their indiscretions are too numerous to name. Maybe they need to believe what they preach and allow God to have His way in their lives. The African Americans all across the country, as well as the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church will forever be tarnished by this scandal.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrew 11:1
“For by it the elders obtained a good report.” Hebrew 11:2
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrew 11:3

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrew 11:6

Terry Jones – Spreading “Hate” in the Name of the Lord!

Now that Terry Jones has his fifteen minutes of fame, he has now stated that since he is so famous, he and members of his congregation will start carrying concealed weapons. People please! Don’t you see that this is a demented man starving for attention?

What the F.B.I. should do is keep an eye on him and the media should stop covering his sadistic acts. This man needs psychological help, even Stevie Wonder could figure this out within five minutes of communicating with him.

I’ve often said that free speech or free expression of thoughts is not free if it causes harm or detriment to your fellow man. [Seven foreign U.N. workers lost their lives in an outbreak of violence related to the burning of the Quran] The seven lives that were lost were the results of free expression by Terry Jones.

Do you still consider his expressions free or was his actions paid for by the blood of the seven people who died and how will you explain this to their families? This man’s actions have caused tremendous unrest and loss of innocent lives in Afghanistan. Do you still consider his action a free expression of thoughts, and at what cause?

Most laws are very clear and succinct and yet there are some that are vague and appear to have a grey area and lean rather to the spirit of the law or subjective to interpretation. Do you really think that your forefathers wrote the “First Amendment” to incite violence and discrimination or prevent violence and discrimination?

Laws against hate crimes might conflict with rights under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Generally, the First Amendment protects a citizen’s right to the free expression of thoughts. However, the courts have ruled that First Amendment rights may give way to the greater public good. For example, there is no First Amendment protection for someone who falsely yells “Fire!” in a crowded theater, because such speech endangers the safety of others. Such expression might give rise to a Disorderly Conduct charge or similar charge. In determining the constitutionality of hate-crime legislation, one primary question is whether the prohibited speech deserves First Amendment protection.

Terry Jones has exhibited what should be considered a “Hate Crime” on a group of people because of their religion. Can you imagine what would happen to the United States if people would start expressing their rights in such a perverse way, while hiding behind the “First Amendment?” ”I suspect that some might even label Terry Jones as a “terrorist” by some standards.

Ask by the media if he would burn the Quran again and he couldn’t say “YES!” fast enough. This man has no regard for human life, mine or yours. People! You better wake up! Time is not on your side.

First Terry Jones burns the Quran, next he’s going to get a gun and well it’s not hard to figure out what he is going to do next. This is not a laughing matter and should not be shrugged off as harmless. I predict that this situation will not have a happy ending.

“God Bless the U.S.A. – a country in need of prayer!”

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand”. Matthew 12:25 KJV

“If that is true, then what about a country divided?”

Our country is broken! That’s a fact. No country can sustain itself long term with 17 million unemployed and counting and expect to remain the most powerful country in the nation.

America is broken practically at every turn. Let’s take a quick view at what is currently broken:

New Set of Politicians Up on the Hill –
People praying around the world for God’s Will – still going strong

Only God! Can Turn This Country Around…
Please Pray without ceasing for our Leaders!!!

Pastor Terry Jones, Prophetic or Pathetic?

Terry Jones, Pastor of Dove World Outreach Center, a Fundamentalist Christian Church in Gainesville, Florida, since 1996.

Who is Terry Jones removed from the title of Pastor? Where did he receive his theological training?

It appears that he has made burning the Qur’an his life mission. Why is it necessary to burn the Qur’an on Saturday,September 11th or any other day for that matter?

Which Holy Bible will he burn next or will he then turn his attention to people that he doesn’t agree with?

Where in the Bible will you find scripture to support his actions?

What is Pastor Jones really angry about and why does he feel that he has to carry a gun with him? A Pastor? Really?

Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I send them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them; they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. – Jeremiah 14:14 KJV (Page 452)
The prophets are prophesying false-hood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds. Jeremiah 14:14 (NAS)

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7: 15 KJV (Page 565)

Galatians 5: 13-26 KJV (Page 687)
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. (13)

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. (14)

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye not be consumed one of another. (15)

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (16)

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (17)

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (18)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. (19)

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies. (20)

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (21)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (22)

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (23)

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (24)

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (25)

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. (26)

Sunday’s Best on B.E.T and then there was “Elder Goldwin McLendon”

Amazing Grace is what I see every time Elder Goldwin McLendon takes the stage. Elder McLendon is 79 years young and still going strong. What you witness is without a doubt the hands of the Lord in action. It is very apparent that Elder McLendon is that one person who has received God’s special favor. When Elder McLendon’s name is mentioned, the crowd is on their feet, even before he takes the stage.

Elder McLendon song for tonight was: “He’s all over me and He’s keeping me alive.” I could see the Spirit of the Lord all over him and I could feel the Spirit of the Lord, in his song. “It appears that when Elder McLendon takes the stage that the spirit automatically envelopes the audience and Elder McLendon is just a vessel being used by God.

The Spirit of God is present everywhere but not everyone can reach that place, where it just oozes and overflows to all that is blessed to witness it and be in its presence. The psalmist sensed that no matter where he was, God’s Spirit was there [Ps. 139:7]. The Pharaoh saw the Spirit of God in Joseph [Gen, 41:38]. Moses realized that the Spirit of God was on him, and he desired that God’s Spirit be on all of His people [Num 11:29]. During the period of the Judges, the Spirit of the Lord came to individuals and empowered them to accomplish specific tasks [Judg. 3:10; 6:34; 11:29; 13:25; 14:6; 14:19].

Isaiah spoke of one who is to come from the line of Jesse, one of whom the Spirit of the Lord would rest. This person would have the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, power, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord [ISA. 11:1-3]. Ezekiel prophesied that God would put His Spirit within His people, removing from them hearts of stone and putting within them hearts of flesh that would be obedient to God’s way [Ezek. 36:26-27]. “I believe that Elder McLendon is one such person. God is truly all over him and is indeed keeping him alive for such a time as this.”

I look forward to purchasing his CD or DVD in stores soon.
